One day at a time...this is enough...

A Daily Devotional

🌺”One day at a time…this is enough…Do not look back and grieve over the past,
for it is gone; and do not be troubled about
The future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.”
Ida Scott Taylor

Abraham Lincoln wrote this:
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.

God has designed us to live: ‘One Day at a Time’. God wants us to live today to the fullest. A great life is made up of lots of good days. When God created the world He made it all for man, including the division of time into days, separating each day with the curtain of night. Every new day is closed off from yesterday and tomorrow. It is a new start. Don’t worry about the past, its past. Don’t worry about tomorrow, the future will take care of itself when you get to it. But live for today. God wants us to focus all our energies into today.

What verses in the Bible talk about taking one day at a time?

🌺 Psalm 118:24:
“This is the day which the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

🌸 Matthew 6:11-13
Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

🌷 1Peter 5:7:
‘Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.’

🌼 Matthew 6:33.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to unto you.

🌾 “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.… Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:6, 8 NLT)

One Step At a Time~

One day at a time Lord,
one new dawn, if You will
one more step of faith . . .
in waiting to be still.

One hour at a time,
one minute to get by
one more step of hope . . .
yet, for me to try.

One second at a time,
one little slip of time
one more step of trust . . .
I still have to climb.

One foot forward,
one more to follow
one more step to rest . . .
under Your wings shadow.

One day at a time Lord,
one new dawn to bring
one more step of faith . . .
to trust You in all things!

Psalm 57:1

“Be merciful unto me, O God,
be merciful unto me:
for my soul trusteth in thee:
yea, in the shadow of thy wings
will I make my refuge, until
these calamities be overpast.”
